It’s me. Samantha. My first post ever is about my new favorite author and the fantasy world he has created, or, I should say, is still creating.
I just read Alexander Nixon’s first novel. It. Rocked.
I can’t tell you more about it right now because my mother is editing my review. When she is finished, and I agree with her changes, I will post my review of “The Rise of Apassionéa,” by New York City author Alexander Nixon.
In the meantime, please check out the Introduction to “Rise of Apassionéa.” I read the introduction and I was hooked. Of course, I am a sucker for any book that blends science and fantasy. I really like the Mayan mythology and, of course, the unicorns. The author has given me permission to post an image of a unicorn from his book, though, in the book, they are not called unicorns. They are called Zipacnas. That’s pronounced like zip-POK-na. Cool right? That’s because it’s Mayan. 😉
The illustration, as well as all the illustrations for his novel, were drawn and painted by Nr. Mixon, as I like to call him. Here is a link to a NYC article in ARTSlant about him.
He’s pretty dreamy, eh? His book sure is! Stay tuned for my review.
